The word 'kabata' means ?ėŽountain??in one of the native Costa Rican languages, and we are proud of our beautifully conserved mountains and jungles. We would like to provide a place for you to stay as you enjoy and explore these magnificent places with the backpackers of the world.
Our beautiful Art-Deco style house is located in a nice-and-quiet neighborhood where you can walk safely at night. However, it is only a couple of blocks away from the University of Costa Rica, Outlet American Mall, Mall San Pedro, banks, ATMs, shops, art galleries, cinemas, fast food restaurants as well as more formal places to eat.
If you are interested in a night on the town, La Calle de la Amargura -with bars like Jazz Cafe, Terra U, Caccio's, La Villa, Mosaikos, etc.- is where all the college students hang out, and is definitely the place to go. There is a night life for every taste, be it noisy and loud or calm and more quiet. In all of these bars you can drink, eat, dance, and meet people that like to party or relax like you do!!!

We can design and make for you personalized adventure tours all around the country, that you can enjoy on your own or with a guide taking care of every detail of the tour, so you just need to relax and enjoy the tour. This tours are operated by our own adventure company: Outdoor Adventures. We have tours visiting places like Tortuguero, La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano, Monteverde, Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, Manuel Antonio, but we can arrange a tour to the destination you want, or make a mix of several places into one special and unforgettable trip.
We will be there with the hostel logo sign, so it will be easy for you to find us. It will be a pleasure to go and find you at the airport!!! The cost is: Car $14, Van $20.
2 -- Or if you prefer, you just pick the Orange Airport Taxis: Taxi Aeropuerto. The cost of this service is $14. There is a little ticket office just outside the main door of the airport, just when you pass customs. In there you need to buy the ticket, and tell them that you have a hostel reservation and are going to:

3 -- The taxis authorized by the government are Red, with Yellow Triangles on the doors. They must use the Maria meter to calculate the fare. For long trips you need to negotiate the fee. You can ask different cabs to check which one is better. If you want to take one of those Red Taxis, just give the hostel address.
4- From San Jose, take the buses to San Pedro; get off in the Outlet American Mall, just in front of the San Pedro Catholic Church. From the bus stop you walk to the Gas Station in the corner, then 1 block South and a half block East. The hostel is on your left.
Note: We are waiting for you. Don't belive if the taxi driver seems to make a call and tell you that we are full or something like that. Just take another taxi. Also some taxi drivers are stolen clients, so they offer to take you to our hostel and take you to other place, so that is why we recommend that you take our service.
