The Aljubarrota Guest House is located in downtown.Most of the historical monuments are nearby or by a quick ride of our public tranportations.Our guest house is located in Assun챌찾o street number 53, on the 4th floor.Unfortunatly we do not have an elevator or handicap access.It is 75 steps to the 4th floor...this will assure a daily workout and provide a better health. The name Aljubarrota is from a famouse battle, in a war between the spanish invading forces and portuguese forces, that took place in 14th August 1385. This battle was so famouse because, when the spanish trops were marching toward Lisbon from Leiria, the portuguese trops blocked the road...and even, with lower equipment and out numbered the portuguese won this famouse battle, due to an exelent war tactics of his commander. Legend says that even a woman-baker, with her ovenpeel fought the spanish troops.

It takes about 20 min from the airport to reach New Aljubarrota. Please consult the maps in this page.The other choice is to come by Bus you can go by catching the Bus 91(Aerobus) or 44, or 45.Taking the bus 44 or 45, is a bit cheaper,but it takes longer get out at Rossio bus station.And walk towards the river for 3 blocks until you find Rua da Assun챌찾o.Our guest house is above a big shoe store called Lisbonense. Santa Apolonia Train Station - If you are comming from Santa Apolonia train station you can catch the bus number 9 or 46 or 90 , and get out at Pra챌a do comercio bus station. The nearest subway station of the Guest House is Baixa chiado.Please consult our maps. You can also come by taxi, but it will be much more expensive than if you come by bus or subway.We only advise coming by taxi, if you have very heavy bags and or suitcases. There is a taxi terminal, right in front of the train station. Jardim Zoologico Bus Station ( ZOO ) - You can take the subway ( Blue line ) and the nearest stastion is jardim Zoologico and get out in Baixa-Chiado, where the Guest house is located. When you get to the bus you can ask the driver to warn you when is the Rossio bus station.You can reconize the avenue,becasue it is a large square with a statue.
