The Chelsea International Hostel is located in the historic Chelsea District of Manhattan. Just north of Greenwich Village and south of Midtown Manhattan, it is between 7th & 8th Avenues. Our hostel was opened in 1993 with just 40 beds, we now have 350 beds, making us the biggest independent hostel in New York. We are open 24 hours. The Chelsea district has the lowest crime rate in all of Manhattan. We have a professional security staff and all our common areas are under constant video monitoring. Our property is maintained around the clock by a highly motivated maintenance and maid staff. Our front desk staff is comprised of people familiar with New York and the surrounding Boroughs. We have provided 2 Common Dining Areas and 2 fully equipped Kitchens for our guests with TV, plus one Recreation Room. We provide Linen, but you provide the Towels. We provide Lockers but you provide the Locks. Coffee and Tea are always available in the Kitchen area. New York Pizza is provided on Wednesday Nights for our guests only. Subway and Bus Maps are available in the office. Other Services Available but not for free is the fax service, available in our office, Laundry Room, Internet Cafe, Fax Service, Phone Cards and Storage Lockers Available upon Check out are for storage and are from $3-$5 a day depending on size.

From JFK Airport: Chelsea Hostel now offers the AIRLINK SHUTTLE Service to and from the Chelsea Hostel. To schedule shuttle service please call their offices at 1-877-599- 8200.
From Port Authority (Bus Station): Take "C" train to 23rd street stop and walk towards the 20th street exit to just walk south 3 blocks. Make a left onto 20th street & 8th avenue. You can take a cab from the Port Authority bus station for under $7.00
From LaGuardia Airport: LaGuardia Airport bus company web site Take the Carey Bus to Penn. Station ($15.00). Follow directions from Penn. Station Below.
Take the Q33 Bus to Last Stop, Take "E" Train to 23rd Street, walk to 20th street, Left turn, house # 251.($3.00 ea.)
From Newark International Airport: Chelsea Hostel now offers the Super Shuttel Service to and from the Chelsea Hostel. To schedule shuttle service please call their offices at 1- 877-599-8200.
From Penn. Station (AMTRAK Train): Walk down 8th Avenue to 20th Street turn left, House Number 251 (8 minutes), Reception area on first floor.
