Tokyo Village is a small hostel catering for those who seek a different experience in life for those who are looking a bit futher than the glossiest advertising full of superlatives. It is run by Charlie and his wife Vanessa both travellers who landed on the shores of australia many years ago from Germany and Korea. They have pleanty of ideas how to travel as an individual, how to avoid packaged tours and how to have the most fun spending the least amount of money. The guests are generally very nice people who tend to stay around for a while to work and study or prepare their motorbike or bicycle for that big trip around OZ. The acommodation consists of female, male or couples dormitories ( 4-8 beds) as welll as double and triple rooms. There are two well equiped communal kitchens , a large common room as well as a large back yard with BBQ facilities. Carparking is available on the street with a limited number of spaces which allow unlimited parking. Motorcycles are safely parked in our backyard and we can provide basic tools for their maintenance.
stay HERE! this was my first hostel experience and i would definately stay at tokyo village again! the people were sooo friendly, very casual and helpful. the hosts advised us where to go and what to do everyday. everything was convenient, location is close to everything, downtown sydney, railway, etc. even though the hostel was pretty full, the only time i really felt crowded was when we tried to cook dinner. but i had a lovely stay. it was like college all over again, livin dorm style, it was SUPER!
